Timbuktu woman

I am not really sure this painting is finished.I tried not to get the details, only the general idea. Instead of a brush I used my favourite, a palette knife.This is the first time that I paint someone not white.Actually it was very difficult, I don't think I really managed to get somewhere.
My model is a woman from Timbuktu. I loved the colour of her clothes made out of silk and I also admired her courage.Can you really believe that this woman was punished for forbidden love?
